    Why Tacoma?

Tacoma is a great community, you'll experience a vibrant campus. What's really neat about the campus is it has a sense of integrity and historic presidents and most interesting things is the oldest buildings in the UW system are actually on the UW Tacoma campus. And that historic reuse is partly what makes it really cool to come to class.

We have smaller class sizes here, they range about 30-to-35 students. And so you really get to know your students. You can talk to them, you can see the body language and you can figure it out if hey're not getting it. You can walk over to them and answer their questions. You can really help them. If you wanted to step off campus. Within five miles you have point defiance Park, there's a beach, there's a zoo, there's an aquarium.

We've got a train that is five minutes away, that takes you up to Seattle and beyond. At UW Tacoma we have over 50 undergraduate degrees that are in seven different schools here. I personally am doing a communications degree in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. At UW Tacoma. We have a lot of local students here that are either staying on campus or live very close by with their families, which makes it very easy to hang out after class.

If you're a student that's looking for an opportunity to become a part of a community where you will be known and appreciated. UWT is the place for you.
