    Student Support

With more than a dozen departments and programs ranging from first-generation initiatives to career services and from on-campus housing, recreation, and student financial aid to the veterans and military resource center, the student affairs division focuses on student success. We care deeply about our students' wellbeing and endeavor to co-create a student ready community where students establish meaningful connections with each other and faculty, staff, and alumni.

Pack Advisors and First-Gen Fellows foster a successful transition into the UW Tacoma community and the Center for Equity & Inclusion aims to create safe and welcoming spaces to cultivate our diverse campus community.

Life doesn’t stop when you step on campus. You might get sick. You might find yourself stressed and in need of someone to talk to. We have a Counseling Center on campus and our partnership with Franciscan Healthcare ensures you have access to a doctor any time of day.

There may also come a time when you need a little more. The Pantry provides students with free food and our Office of Student Advocacy & Support can work with you to create a long term solution to whatever difficulty you’re experiencing.

Hear at UW Tacoma, we understand that the transition from a high school senior to a college freshman is not easy, which is why we have plenty of different resources such as the pact advisor program, which helps new and incoming students such as freshmen, transfer, or running start.

I'm a pack advisor. We are your peer mentor or anything student related like on campus or anything, even if you have questions that kind of tie into school but are also on the outside too. That's what we're here for.

Being a transfer student myself. I know how important and how intimidating the process can be of transferring into a new college into a new setting. I'll definitely suggest for transfer students who talk to the academic advisors to kind of understand how the program works and what all things are necessary to be successful in that particular program.

As soon as you walk into the career center, they offer great support for resume review and cover letter review. And also interview prep and mock interviews.

As a husky you have a student section access when you're going to sports game so like football, basketball, but you know, it's just a great way for you to you know, meet new people enjoy a game, get some food, you know, it's a good experience.

The CSI is the perfect place for any student whether you are an incoming student, you're a transfer student, freshmen or continuing students to go and kind of learn about the resources available on campus. So I'll definitely suggest if you are a new student or even if you're a continuing student, go visit the CSI learn more about the opportunities that you can get involved with on campus.
